Every Saturday I run a feature for the 99 Cent Club, and below are the eBook picks for this week that caught my eye and are currently ONLY 99 cents on Amazon, with only a few on Barnes and Noble (sorry, authors just don’t seem to be putting their books on Barnes and Noble!). I don’t know if these are permanent prices, so please don’t shoot the messenger, and double check pricing before pressing the buy button. Enjoy! (If you could help give these authors some love by spreading the word, that would be epic.)

Things were supposed to get better when Ryan met Lili. I was supposed to move on, get a life… but I’m stuck and lost. Things with my father are not good. There are demons in our closet, big ones. Ones I want to kill him for, I’m seeing a shrink, I’m trying to get better… but my life feels out of control, like I’m a raft adrift on the sea. I don’t know where to look, how to get anchored again, and then I meet Zoe Stone. Something about her draws me out of my rut, makes me laugh for real, smile, and for the first time in years I want to be more. But what will she think when she discovers who I really am?
When Alexander Donovan, aka The Golden Adonis, walks into my tattoo parlor, I know I’ll do anything to make that man mine. There’s an instant connection, a need to know more about him. Everything about him. But there’s also a mystery surrounding the guy, when people look at him they only see the man that laughs, that cracks jokes and makes the world think that everything’s okay, but I see the truth… I see the darkness that lurks so deep inside few would ever recognize it. I want to help him, I want to be with him, now I just have to make him trust me enough to let me in.

The pictures are distributed to the North Lake High School student body sending the best friends to the bottom rung of the social ladder right before senior year. When Beckett and Chloe return to school, they find themselves ill prepared for the harassment and bullying that follows.
Beckett has an easier time being reaccepted than Chloe. And she’ll do anything to be part of her old clique and to get a second chance at a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, star running back Kale Fenton. But Beckett’s attempts at a normal senior year are at odds with Chloe’s increasingly anti-social behavior. As Chloe’s life spirals out of control she becomes obsessed with the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, also known as Suicide Bridge, a place known for the jumpers. Cutting Class begins with P.B. initials short for PonyBoy, named after the famous book that his mother was once obsessed with. P.B. is very angry, and partly blames this on his father having been in prison for P.B.’s entire life. His mother refuses to talk about why his father is in prison for murder, an act that his father committed when he was 18,
the age that P.B. will soon be, so P.B. finds his mother’s journals from when she was 15 and begins to read them in hopes that it will help him understand how he ended up a fatherless kid. The journals portray the tragic love story of his unpopular parents in the public school system, where his mother is a loner who talks to no one, and his father is a cute book worm who all the girls fawn over, but who has an angry side that is soon pushed to its limits by the high school football team. P.B. is nothing like his father, he is in fact a star member of his schools football team and quite popular, at least until he starts pursuing Pixie, the school token “weird girl”. Maybe father and son are not that different.

Love on Haight by Edward Savio
Love. Sex. Friendship. Pick any two.
Jessica Dalton has her life all planned out. She was going to meet the man of her dreams, fall in love, keep her friends, and never have to work again. Only someone forgot to tell the world that. Her best friend Faith has it all. Money, a gorgeous husband, and nothing to do all day but wonder where to shop next. Yet, she’s miserable. The only thing that gives her day any meaning is sleeping with men to whom she’s not betrothed.
Flynn Hudson’s last girlfriend killed herself after he broke up with her. The kind of conversation-ending information that makes first dates a minefield. Some women turn and run. Some want to fix him and make it all better. He wants the ones who leave and can’t stand the ones who stay. His best friend Van has never had a relationship last more than four months. Until now. The problem is it’s his boss’s crazy daughter and he can’t get rid her.
Filled with wonderful characters and crackling dialogue, Love on Haight is the hilarious and at times poignant story of what happens when two sets of friends collide on the road to love and happiness.
It’s touching. It’s funny. It’s human. It’s messy.
It’s love in the 21st Century.

Rainwater Kisses by Krista Lakes
The older sister of Emma LaRue wasn’t looking for love. In fact, the last thing Kaylee LaRue thought as she attended her sister’s Caribbean wedding was that she would meet a man as confident as Owen Parker. The suave businessman oozed charm, and when that charm was directed at Kaylee, it gave her pause. She couldn’t be sure if the man was actually interested in her or just interested in a good time.
In reality, Owen Parker had never met anyone like Kaylee LaRue. The quiet girl from Iowa made him forget to breathe the first time he saw her. When he tried to work his magic, her wit proved to be a match for his, and his charms had no effect. He knew what it looked like- she probably thought that he wanted to have a vacation tryst with her just as Jack Saunders had with Emma. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Kaylee tried hard not to yield to his advances, but their last night in the Caribbean was simply magical. After a passionate night spent in the arms of Owen, Kaylee ruefully observed that there was no fake wedding to keep the two of them together. As she flew home, she thought it’d be back to the same old life for her. She never expected Owen to show up at her door.
However, this small town girl wasn’t sure she was ready to change for this city boy. When Kaylee tried to fit into Owen’s world, everything came crashing down. In the blink of an eye, what seemed like a strong foundation suddenly found itself built on a pillar of sand. Would their relationship blossom like Jack and Emma’s, or would the two of them forever be haunted by the memories of rainwater kisses?

Through Glass by Rebecca Ethington
Everyone remembered the day the sky went black. The day the sun was wiped from the sky. They remember the wind as it brought in the darkness; the way the earth shook and everything changed.
Everyone remembered the screams as the darkness ate those who were out in the open, those who had surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.
Everyone remembered the voice from the sky and the way food disappeared.
At least, that’s what I hoped. I hoped that there was an ‘everyone’ that would remember because I am not sure how many are left, how many survived. Or if anyone did.
I hoped that I wasn’t alone.
I remembered that day.
I remembered because it was the day I became alone.
It was the day that everything was perfect until the monsters took it away. Then the house went silent and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.
The boy I talk to through the glass.
